The EMS System

Lakes Region EMS is part of a broader public safety system in our area. Working closely with local Fire & Rescue, Police, and Sheriff Departments, as well as other ambulance services, we deliver comprehensive Emergency Medical Services to the residents and visitors.

Our region's first responders are equipped with specialized medical and rescue equipment, including Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and Extrication Tools (Jaws of Life). Lakes Region EMS Paramedics and EMTs also assist at many Fire & Rescue incidents inclduing structure fires, vehicle accidents and hazardous materials releases. We supply the Chisago and St. Croix County ERUs (Emergency Response Unit) with Tactical Paramedics who deploy with their SWAT teams on Law Enforcement incidents where there is immediate threat of injury and death, bringing advanced life support to some of the highest risk calls public saftey can encounter.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Department Communication Center, Polk County Sherrif's Department and Allina Health EMS Dispatch coordinate dispatch services with our ambulances for 911 and transfer requests.

Should you require medical attention, our area boasts several high-quality healthcare facilities, including M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center, Cambridge Medical Center, St. Croix Health, and Osceola Medical Center.

We also have access to metro region hospitals with world-class specialty capabilities including, but not limited to Cardiac, Stroke and Trauma care. For highly critical patients we respond with medical flight services from Life Link III - significantly reducing the time it takes for a patient to arrive at definitive care.
